This weekend LG concept designers released a new skin “Pd’A-Ayil.  It’s the store’s first skin and comes in a virtually endless array of make-up styles and looks to be fit the most picky of avatars.  Being that this is LG’s first release I have a few things that I like and couple I thought the skins could improve on.

What I thought could be improved was first the light eyebrows.  I loved the graceful arch of the dark set, but the blonde set seemed to cut off part way through.  The middle picture I took compares both sets of eyebrows.  I like sometimes changing things up wearing blonde hair, but I felt like with this skin in the light eyebrows that it was far too sparse.  I would have loved to see the carry through of the dark eyebrow into the blonde.

Next, I would look into the design of the nipples.  While I know its an artistic choice, I felt like for the body the nipples were too small and the coloring on them seemed off.  They seemed even a little fetishy.  But, if your an avi that isn’t into shedding your clothes, this skin would work nicely since the rest of the body is shaded gorgeous.

What I liked about the skin was the variety of the tones and styles of make-ups.  One certainly wouldn’t be bored with the amount of choices.  I really liked the face too, it seemed to work well with my eyes and general shape.  I also like the glowyness of the skin, it seemed youthful, vibrant.

All in all for LG’s first run of skins I’m delightfully pleased.  Being a skin maker is incredibly hard and I can tell that a lot of work went into these. I’d suggest interested avis tp over and try them on for themselves, you’re sure to fine at least one skin that fits you perfectly.

::Tuli::Eva Tone 4 Make-up 5

I’m really excited today to bring you the new release “Eva,” from Tuli.  Eva comes in 7 different skin tones, in this post, I focused on tone 4, which is my personal favorite.

Eva maintains Tuli’s typical quality with very clean smooth lines, and no visible seams. One of my favorite parts of all Tuli skins is the lips. They aren’t glossy or flat like most skins, but rather they look so realistic that they make photographing fun.  Usually when I take a close-up for a profile picture, I almost always wear a Tuli skin for this reason.

Tuli’s skins provide users with a veritable plethora of not only make-up options but also a blonde, brunette, and black haired brow options.  Tuli’s skins also come with a cleavage option for all make-ups and tones, which is a nice not over done look to compliment any lady’s virtual wardrobe.

Skins are often the great foundation of our wardrobe, and with Tuli’s effervescent charm, they are sure to be a favorite with her new skin tone Eva.

Tuli’s Journey Sim just re-opened last night, so this new skin line along with some new clothes are available now!

TP to ::Tuli:: today!

Featured here today is Exodi’s new release skin Stephanie.  We’ve all been anxiously awaiting this for months and the long tease has been killer!  While I know there has been some initial criticisms for the skin’s pixelated nose and some seaming issues, I shot these pics at 3,000 and I think they still look pretty damn good 🙂

I loved the sunkissed tan of Harlow, that was probably my favorite tone.  My favorite make-up was 7, I loved the under eye liner in the bold turquoise, its done so precisely like when you use a tiny brush for a perfect  unsmudged line.  What I also liked about Stephanie was that the abdomen wasn’t as exaggerated as some, It seemed a little more rounded and fleshy, which I was also a fan of.  C’mon peeps, ladies aren’t suppose to have a glistening oiled down chilzzed abdomen, I can’t stand womens’ skins that do that!

These skins also come in several options–clear skin, freckled, cleavage/no cleavage, and dark or light brows.  This is by far Exodi’s best release, and I certainly look forward to the next, as they are truly in a class of their own.

With the recent close of Beauty Avatar Couture, the company underwent a sim rebuild and a re-branding to the new name “Glam Affair.”  To celebrate the new sim, there is not only a new dollarbie out (hair, outfit, skin etc.) but also a new release of skins “Leona” for you to go out and demo. Here, I’m featuring the skins in natural with 10 different make-ups. I really like the simplicity of the skins–the biggest difference being the lip colors.  But I also like the varying degrees of the smokey eye–as a daily (RL) smokey eye person, I liked how some of the skins were more natural for day to extreme for night.  If I had one thing to change, I would say the eyebrows.  I know a sparse eyebrow is a signature of Glam Affair (or BAC), but I would love to have the option of adding either dark, light or red brows that are a little heavier.  All in all, I found this skin set consistent with quality of their other releases, which I like–but the smokey eye–now that’s just icing on the cake!

We all love Boudoir for the brand’s tasteful RL inspired couture–Just when you think the store can’t get any better, Vitabella the store’s couture connoisseur comes out with skins!  What I like about these skins is that they are so unique. Vita is certainly filling a gap on the high fashion side with her skins–they are beautiful and breath taking, with painstaking details in each face.  This is the first release for the store; and I’m sure with each new release to come we’ll expect more and more out of this RL couture designer as she makes her virtual mark in SL.

TP now to Boudoir!

Ugly Duck Skins Review

Ok.  I’m skin obsessed.  There is no question my real life love of make-up (and my short RL stint as a make-up artist! LOL) travels with me into SL.  While I usually keep my in-world style a little more like my real life one (smokey eyes, pale lips, glowy skin) one of my favorite things to do in either world is PLAY with make-up.  You know, like have fun! These skins definitely strike a chord with fun make-ups that are suited to dazzle, surprise and inspire your daily wardrobe choices!

I was really interested when Fade Lei of Ugly Duck IM’d me to have a look at her skins and I’ve come from this review being a big fan.  One of the unique parts of her store is that she sees each individual skin tone as a name.  Gone are the days of racking through isles of “creme,” “buff,” & “cocoa” –Enter fun skin tones like “Lucy,” “Chani” & “Sophie.”  The skins reviewed here are the tone called “Lucy,” and the collection is the painted make-ups.  One of the other things that Fade mentioned was that she specifically designed these skins for smaller chested avis, meaning don’t fear wearing those bikinis anymore girls!

Ugly Duck is right around the corner, go try out some demos– Also I should mention, there are about 3-4 group skins in-store; the fee for joining is $250L but its well worth it to try this innovative, inspiring and unqiue designer’s creations!

Cheers,

::falls over::  whew.  sooo many gorgeous skins. Right now I feel like the luckiest little avi on the grid with the chances I”ve been having to review some of the most stunning work from some of my favorite designers. I’m sure you’ve all seen mustache hair in my posts, its a favorite of mine, and I’m always looking for more (and buy every..single…release).  I just can’t stop myself!  When I learned creator, Mae Liamano, was making skins…I just about died.  Upon taking a look at the skins with my friend Carissa, we both have decided they are a definite win, and all should buy!

My personal favorite is the mid-tone skank color, with my favorite make-up being Liner 1 (freck).  However, I did find it hard to choose, they were all so stunning.  The make-up is subtle, but still noticeable, and perfect for an extra touch to our favorite outfits.  Now options…you know I’m big on those (who isn’t?)  Freckles and non-freckles.  Any skin that let’s me choose this, the better.  I’m all about the dainty subtle spotting that makes the skins more life-like, and these had just that.

You probably notice that the lips didn’t have multiple colors.  For me, its not a problem. I always wear a nude or light lip because my eye make-up is always a little more dramatic. The soft, glossy lips on these certainly make-up for the lack of colors, with its gorgeous tone and texture.

All in all, I find these skins to be an absolute delight and a set I know I will keep wearing over and over with my different looks.

Want in on these gorgeous skins? Visit Mustache!

Enjoy,

Suri Alex xxx
