I was delighted to put together this week’s look sprinkled in with a bit of yellow.  It really helped get me out of the winter blaughs with such a warm and summery color.  I decided to do my look as kind of day on the boat in Cape Cod type look. In this look, be sure to stop by the Exile Suscribo for the new Rina hair–it’s a nice mix of chocolatey browns and reds, which is really nice if you’re looking to try out this style.  Boys–you’re not left out of this post, make sure you also check the suscribo for a mechanic skin, and a few hairstyles in the history of the suscribo.  Enjoy!

Again, thanks for reading, and glad to be back!

Cheers,

I squealed with absolute delight upon receiving [KA] Designs new plaid top, I’m always a big fan of their work (and collaborations with other designers) and this mini top was no different.  Though I’m always a bit too modest to bare my midriff in everyday wear, this top begs for summer.  I instead chose to do a transitional look, moving now from our cool March into the end of the month (and hopefully a little bit warmer weather!)

In this look I also used the Tres Blah suscribo gift from a couple weeks ago, my Milk Motion Harem pants (a staple in my wardrobe), always squeezing my !Ohmai tops in their somewhere (black bottom is part of the Ohmai Jumper), the old Le.Look leggings gift and some AMG Boudoir Hair.  Oh, and the skin from last post, a 50L special from Leafy. Fence is also an older suscribo gift from Glitterati, join the suscribo for future and upcoming gifts and sales!  :)Enjoy!

ah its that time of year when we’re all bustling around.  This year was especially busy for me with my graduation on Friday plus the massive amounts of christmas shopping I’ve been trying to get done…I’m a bit exhausted already!  This year has been really enjoyable, and I’m happy to close out 2009 with lots of great friends (and well some people that I’ve lost…good riddance right?).

I have two special pictures for you, first my Nice photo.  Skin was the delicious new release from {paperdoll} .  I paired with a few of my favorites from Phoenix Rising as well.  The tease jewelry is bold but elegant, with just the right amount of sparkle.  Next, the Phoenix Rising outfit “Motive” in Red, is perfectly festive for all of your holiday parties and gatherings.  To top off my festive attire I slid on a pair of the new T-strap Plaid pumps by Nardcotix. The texturing on these is phenomenal and reminded me of a pair that Britney Spears wore in a recent video (Defintely a win!) by shoe mastermind Christian Louboutin.

So this holiday 2009 season begs the question… Were you Nice?

Or were you a little naughty?! (For my naughty readers, here is a special picture for you!) You don’t want to miss out on this offer!

New Releases at SugarCube

A big thanks to Sayuri Cremorne for passing me the new releases available today in her store SugarCube!  I’m in love with the new belted skirts and I find they go well with her soft knit turtleneck sweaters.  The broach is iconic yet subtle, making the pair look delightful together. I also love the variety of the prints, I’m not sure I have a favorite since they are all gorgeous and unique, I would advise buying all of them!!  Also in this set of new releases is a frothy tiered cocktail dress in a delicate lilac color, perfect for a first date or just lallygagging around the grid!

TP to Sugarcube now to obtain these fabulous new additions to your inventory!

All poses by S.Loves, and Giltterati!

Cheers,

Breast Cancer Awareness

14 years ago at the age of 37, my Mother was diagnosed with stage IV Breast Cancer.  She went through a mastectomy and lost all of her hair with chemotherapy.  A year later in 1996, she was in remission and started feeling better, I’m convinced it was one of the best years our family ever had, death had tempted its presence and from that moment we would cherish our time together.

In April 1997, several scans showed that there were spots on my Mother’s lungs.  After more invasive tests, the doctors had found that her cancer was not only terminal, but that it had spread to surrounding body parts like her bones and her brain.  She died on May 1, 1997 at the age of only 39.

I was only 12 when she died (my younger sister only 8).  Her memory lives on; Her strength, her undeniable courage even in the moments she was scared, but more than anything I remember how badly she wanted to live.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and its a great way to remind yourself, and your loved ones (even males) how important self exams and regular check ups are.  Early detection is the key to survival of this deadly disease that touches each one of us in some way.

Please visit the American Cancer Society for more information on how even YOU can prevent Breast Cancer.

Also a big thanks to the creators in SL who are putting out special things this month in honor of all the courageous sufferers, survivors and those who have passed from Breast Cancer; the pose used in this post for instance is part of a series of free breast cancer series from Glitterati. You can also do a pay as you want with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.

Glitterati $0L (or pay as you want)

Thank you for reading,

Suri Alex xxx
